Eugene A. Woltering, MD, FACSBio: Eugene A. Woltering, M.D .FACS,is the James D. Rives Professor of Surgery and Neurosciences at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He also is the Section Chief of Surgical Endocrinology and the Director of Surgical Research at this institution. Dr. Woltering attended medical school at Ohio State University School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at Vanderbilt University Affiliated Hospitals in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Woltering has also completed fellowships in surgical oncology at The OhioState University School of Medicine and the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Woltering specializes in the diagnosis and management of neuroendocrine tumors of the gastroenteropancreatic tract. His research interests include the development of radioactive drugs for the diagnosis and therapy of tumors and the development of human tissue based models that can be used to product drug activity in patients. |
